On Tuesday 1 February, East Dunbartonshire Football Development Dept held an inservice night for 22 local primary school teachers at Kirkintilloch High School.

The in service night was predominantly practical based and focussed on the new player pathway, developmental 4’s, the Skills Challenge, Creative Player and an introduction to the Early Touches course.

The aim was to give the teachers as many valuable resources as possible, both through participating and the resources handed out to them to take back to their schools.

Stuart Alexander, Football Development Officer for East Dunbartonshire said " It has been great to see so many of our local primary schools represented here, showing an active interest in so many different projects that we run and adding to their own knowledge of the sport.  Hopefully we can keep and build on that interest for many years to come for both the teachers and the young players who want to get involved."

With 30 out of the 36 primary schools in the local authority participating in one of our many programmes, 2011 is sure to be a busy year for lots of young players.
