Around 100 coaches attended the recent East Region coaching conference at McDiarmid Park, Perth.

The conference featured Sunderland academy coach, Carlton Fairweather, technical director of Soccer EyeQ, Kevin McGreskin, Postive Coaching Scotland Programme Manager, Greg Robertson and motivational speaker Watt Nicol.

The day included two practical sessions from Carlton and Kevin and presentions from all the guest speakers on their respective roles in football.

During lunch Greg Robertson delivered a 'double goal coach' Positive Coaching Scotland workshop. The day was rounded off in style when motivational guru Watt Nicol entertained the group with an excellent presentation focusing on the role of the coach and the key communication skills when working with youth footballers.

Ian Lowe, Scottish FA East Region manager: "I am delighted so many people were able to attend the conference this year. A big thank you goes to the four excellent guests.

"I believe each person who attended will take away something that will help improve their skill set and encourage them to keep improving and challenging themselves and their players"

Thank you to St Johnstone FC, East Region staff and Letham Football Club for helping make the day a great success.
