Renowned coaches from the Scottish game are star billing at this year’s East Region Coach Education Conference.

On 31st August at 10am at St Andrew’s University Sports Centre, Neil Mackintosh, performance manager at the Scottish FA, and Gavin Levey, who is head of Aberdeen's Junior Academy, will present on aspects of youth football coaching.

Neil has been involved in sport for over 25 years. Firstly as a senior lecturer in further education, then youth development at Ross County followed by his current appointment as performance manager with the Scottish FA, overseeing the Association's Performance School programme.

Aberdeen FC's Head of Junior Academy Gavin Levey has worked full time in youth and community football for 11 years. 

A former Scottish FA Community Coach at Dundee United,  Gavin later moved north to Ross County FC when the Highland Football Academy was launched. 

Following a successful three years, he joined Aberdeen FC in October 2006 as a youth and community coach, with a key responsibility for coach and player development.

As part of a major development in the Youth Academy at Aberdeen FC, Gavin who holds both the Scottish FA Advanced Youth and Children's License's, is now fully focused on driving the junior programme at the SPL club.

Also presenting is sports psychologist Dan Abrhams. Dan has worked with such players as Carlton Cole and Anthony Stokes and is the author of the book 'Soccer Tough'.
