The Ayr United Football in the Community programme, which is run by the Ayr United Football Academy, The Scottish Football Association & South Ayrshire Council, held a number of successful soccer camps over the Easter Holidays that concluded with the kids attending the Pro-Soccer venue in Whitletts, Ayr receiving a visit from United boss Brian Reid and members of the Ayr United first team and under 19 squads.
As well as Pro-Soccer, the Easter Soccer Camps were run at venues in Troon, Coylton, Maybole and Dundonald and were attended by 148 kids eager to hone those footballing talents. In addition to this, 44 girls participated in a girls only soccer camp.
United’s Football Development Officer David White, was delighted with the turn out and to see so many kids enjoying themselves at all the events.
“The Easter Camps at all the venues were a tremendous success” said Davie, “and it is something that we will be looking to develop in future. Everyone, kids and coaching staff, had a thoroughly enjoyable time and all the boys and girls did very well and hopefully will continue to work on and hone the skills that they have learned.”
“I would also like to thank Ayr United manager Brian Reid and the players form the first team and under 19 squad who also made a visit to the soccer camp at Pro-Soccer. The expressions on the kids faces when they turned up was a joy to behold and helped make some of the youngsters day.”
