Cuminestown Youth Active Football Club, who are currently working towards the Scottish FA Quality Mark Development Award, recently received a grant from the Mary Salmond Trust and a visit from Scottish First Minister Alex Salmond.

Robert Bartlett, club chairman and coach, said:

“We were delighted to welcome Alex to the club to present the strips and to see the kids in action. We truly appreciate all the support Alex has given us.”

Gavin Levey, Scottish FA Football Development Officer commented:

“Robert, the committee, and team of coaches out at Cuminestown have done a great job to get football off the ground in the area. The number of kids in the village playing football is fantastic. There’s a lot of hard work being put in and it really seems to be paying off for everyone involved.”
