Angus Council and the Scottish FA’s East region are in search of a new football development officer.
 

Job Description
 

Angus Council promotes and develops football in the Angus area in partnership with the Scottish FA.

It now wishes to appoint a development officer to further enhance a programme that is already well established.
 

Based in Forfar, you will work with people of all ages and abilities including those from football clubs, schools, community groups and various sports bodies, to promote participation in football at all levels in line with “Scotland United”, the Scottish FA strategic plan.

You will also encourage greater links between communities and clubs in the Angus area.
 

Requirements
 

You will have a degree or SVQ Level 5 in a sports-related or leisure subject and either a UEFA ‘A’ or ‘B’ Licence or SFA Youth Licence or an SFA Children’s Licence Diploma.

You will have knowledge of national sport and health strategies with experience of working with children, young adults, associations, clubs, schools, voluntary groups, national governing bodies and sportscotland.

You will also have experience of creating and developing player, coach, volunteer pathways in sport, introducing, promoting and developing sports development programmes, managing budgets, monitoring and evaluating action plans and other data.

Good organisational, IT and oral and written communication skills are essential as is the ability to plan events, organise coaching courses, develop sponsorship opportunities, motivate others and work unsupervised and as part of a team.

A full, current driving licence and access to a vehicle are also essential.
