Friday 6th June 2014 saw Clackmannanshire Council's 14th Annual Football For All Festival take place at Alloa Rugby Club. The day's event saw over 700 young footballers attend from Nurseries, Primary Schools and ASN Secondary Schools within Clackmannanshire and the wider Forth Valley region. The fantastic weather on the day also helped to attract over 100 spectators to take in the skills on show from the players.
Throughout the day players had the opportunity play against neighbouring school teams through a number of 4 and 7 a-side matches while also taking part in skills practices, having a shot on bouncy castles and taking part in our Speed Shot Half Time Challenge over lunch.
Rather than final scores and results being counted players with the highest Fair Play Points were presented with special awards on our stage by Provost Murphy, Councillor Forson and Councillor Hamilton aswell as a few Scotland Women's Squad players who attended for the day, Leanne Ross, Heather Richards and Fiona Brown.
Clackmannanshire Council's Football Development Officer Martyn Buckie said, "It was a fantastic day for boys and girls of all ages to enjoy their football playing with friends without any pressure on winning. The support from our volunteers was greatly appreciated and helped make the day a success. Also a big thanks to our event sponsors McDonalds, RJM Sports Ltd, Tesco, Forth Valley Disability Sport, and SiteLink Communications."
