The benefits of being a Scottish FA Quality Mark club continue to grow as this week the Association’s East region team announced it would offer free professional coaching support to clubs in its area.

Scottish FA East regional manager Ian Lowe said: “This is a fantastic opportunity for grassroots clubs to benefit from the knowledge and support or our well-trained coaches.

“Coach development is vital for improving standards across the board at clubs.

“Our coaches will visit the club and deliver a session tailored to the needs of the club.

“I would encourage clubs to have as many coaches there as possible to learn from the best practice on view and also ask for any feedback on their own coaching practice.”

The Quality Mark Accreditation Scheme is a key initiative of the non-professional game in Scotland’s One National Plan which seeks to improve the standard of clubs nationwide.

Quality Mark is a prestigious seal of recognition for such things as the level of coaching, governance and youth development within the club. There are three levels – development, community and legacy which are all indicators of the level of quality the club has.

This programme is open to Quality Mark Clubs only, is subject to availability and free of charge.
