Hallhill Healthy Living Centre, Dunbar was the venue for the South East Region Girls' League Cup Finals which took place on Sunday 27 June 2010.
Due to the number of teams competing in this season's U13s league, the cup was again split in to two sections, with teams qualifying to compete in either the consolation cup stage or the League Cup Final itself.
In the U13s League Cup Final, a classic was played out between Hutchison Vale and eventual winners Bonnyrigg Rose. In a dramatic game which swung from end to end no team every really took a grip with goals aplenty. Congratulations to both teams for such an entertaining and attacking game which finally ended with Bonnyrigg coming out 8-5 victors.
In the U13s Consolation Cup Final, Whitburn qualified for the second year running and came up against the newly established Heart of Midlothian 13s team. In another close fought game it was Whitburn who emerged with a 3-0 victory despite good chances at both ends. A massive achievement for both teams however with Whitburn winning for the second year on the bounce and Hearts qualifying in their first ever season.
The day was rounded off with the U15s final with Murieston looking to avenge last seasons defeat against Hibs in the same cup final. A large crowd turned out to watch the game which again moved from end to end with neither team managing to take control. By the time the half time whistle blew both teams were locked at one all. After the restart the girls continued where they left off by creating chances aplenty. Dramatically it was Murieston who ended up victors with a hard earned 4-3 victory.
A special thanks to all those who worked to make it a memorable day for all the teams involved.
