Lochee-based Celtic Girls Tayside FC and Broughty United Youth Football Club girls section are hosting Easter holiday camps aimed at recruiting more players for their girls youth sections for the upcoming season – running from March to November.

Explaining why Scottish football’s governing body is supporting the camps, Sam Milne, East Region Girls and Women’s Club Development officer said: "The two clubs have been working extremely hard in the last year to develop their clubs’ structures and provide opportunities for local girls in the area to become involved in the game.

"We have identified that many young girls - who want to play the game at a club level - currently play recreationally at school. Projects, like these holiday camps, support young girls joining their local club and to be part of our national game. "

The two clubs have been awarded the Scottish FA’s ‘Quality Mark’ award – meaning the level of coaching and volunteer involvement meets national standards.

"Within their club, they have identified female role models, which will support young girls coming into the game," Sam added. "Actions like this highlight the excellent progress being made in making the game more attractive for girls."

The Women's National Team is also in a vital stage of their

UEFA European Campaign playing against France away on Sat 31st March and at home on Thursday 5th April, 2012.
