A Girls’ under-9s festival in Dundee kicked-off last weekend.
Fairfield Community Sports Club played host to the event – for girls aged between six and nine – which East Fife, Celtic
Tayside, Forfar Farmington and Jeanfield GFC attended.
Sam Milne, girls’ and women’s football development officer for the Scottish FA in the City of Discovery, said: “It was great to see so many young girls enjoying the day and all the spectators adhering to the PCS Let them Play Campaign.
“The festival is kick starting the under-9s provision across
Tayside and Fife for the coming season.
“Through working in the schools and with clubs, we know that girls wanting to play football is filtering down to the younger ages and we want to support them to play by giving them the provision to do so.
“Thank you to all the clubs who brought their girls along and gave them a fun filled day.”
The next festival will be Saturday 12th May, 2012 at Fairfield Community Sports Club from 11am to 12pm.
Any clubs or girls who are unattached to teams which would like to attend should contact Sam Milne on 07841569805 or email Sam.milne@scottishfa.co.uk.
