Hampden Boys Club have been awarded the Quality Mark Club status during a recent Scottish FA West Region Quality Mark Awards.
The club, serving players from the King’s Park & Toryglen areas and beyond, picked up the award for an outstanding commitment to ensuring their coaches were fully qualified, with some going the extra mile and obtaining badges above the level they were expected to.
The club is now in its 10th year, operating with under 8s to under 17s, catering for 120 players and using the playing and training facilities at Toryglen.
George Gilmour, coach for Hampden BC’s Under 13 side and Quality Mark Coordinator for the club recognised the assistance of the Scottish FA in obtaining the award.
He said: “The SFA have been great, we’ve worked very closely with Stuart Smith, our Regional Development Officer, and he’s given us a lot of help every step of the way.”
“We would now like to fill the gaps in the age groups that we don’t have at the club and try to bring through the future footballing staff at Hampden BC.”
