Scotland Women’s National Team head coach Shelley Kerr is the focus of the first video in the Scottish FA’s new series, launched earlier today across the Scottish FA’s social media channels.

Titled ‘I Love Football’, the series will document the stories behind some of Scotland’s most prominent female footballing figures.

Having taken charge of the SWNT following UEFA Euro 2017, Kerr and the team made history earlier this year by qualifying for the FIFA Women’s World Cup in France next summer.

Including exclusive behind-the-scenes footage from the team’s training sessions prior to November’s meeting with the USA, the video charts Kerr’s journey from schoolgirl footballer to leader of the national setup in the head coach’s own words.

The SWNT head coach also offers personal insight into her professional journey, having earned 59 caps for her country across a 19-year international career that also saw her give birth to her daughter Christie and take the first steps on her coaching pathway.

With participation in women’s and girls’ football continuing to rise, it is hoped that the series will provide inspiration to the prospective SWNT players of the future, with initiatives such as We Play Strong and the Scottish FA Soccer Centres presented by SSE already proving successful nationwide.

Further videos in the series are set to be released over the coming weeks, with supporters advised to keep an eye on the official Scottish FA social media channels.
