Best Volunteer in Disability Football - Ian Husband
For over thirty years Ian Husband has been a player, coach, manager, fund-raiser and administrator within Scottish deaf football, and in particular Edinburgh Deaf Football Club. His dedication has earned him the Best Volunteer in Disability Football award at this year's Scottish FA Grassroots Awards, presented by McDonald's and the Sunday Mail.
For many years he was both secretary and chairman of the Scottish Deaf Football League and recently Ian has turned his hand to the Scottish Deaf International team.
Ian, who was capped for Scotland during his early playing career, has fought the corner of the Scottish representation at meetings and assemblies across Europe. With his help, the Scottish Deaf Futsal team made their debut at the European Deaf Championships in November 2010. Hear more from Ian in our video (right).
