“If you had fun, you won” – this was the inscription on the medals received by pupils of Thrumster, Dunbeath and Lybster schools after they took part in Jubilee Football tournament at Lybster JFC.
The club is a Scottish FA accredited Quality Mark Club and the tournament was organised by club members Mark Hendry and Adreain Gil.
Adjustment to the wet weather was needed, forcing the players indoors into the local community centre.
Peter Budge, Scottish FA football development officer for the North region, said: “This was a very well organised event and I loved the imaginative inscriptions on the medals emphasising the importance of having fun.”
