At the beginning of this year the Scottish FA in partnership with Soccerworld, Dundee, ran the first Indoor Winter League for women's teams.
33 teams over all age groups, from under 11 through to senior, took part in the first tournament and we're looking to replicate that success in 2011.
All women's clubs are invited to participate, and to kick things off we will be holding an introduction tournament for each age group on the weekend of Saturday 27th November 2010 (U11 and U13) and Sunday 28th November 2010 (U15, U17 and senior).
This tournament will give your club a taster of the next Indoor Winter League, which starts in January 2011.
This year will also see the introduction of Futsal rules, which will encourage the development of technique.
Sam Milne, Scottish FA Girls/ Women's Football Development Officer encouraged all teams to take part: "The Indoor Winter League will provide an opportunity for clubs to continue playing over the winter period, allowing players to continue their development and prepare for the season ahead.
"In addition to this we are holding a one off tournament to celebrate the end of the girls/ women's season for 2010 which we would actively encourage all teams to come along to."
For more information, and to apply for the introduction tournament on Saturday 27th and Sunday 28th November 2010, please contact Sam Milne on sam.milne@scottishfa.co.uk or 07841 569805.
