The TACC Kiltwalk, sponsored by Slanj Kilts

The Tartan Army Children’s Charity are asking supporters to walk 26 miles with them to raise money for disadvantaged children in Scotland and overseas.

The Kiltwalk is from Hampden Park to the shores of Loch Lomond.

Starting at the side of the pitch, the Kiltwalkers will be piped out of the stadium and towards the Clyde. From there the walk will follow the Sustrans pathways fro the rest of the route, ending at Balloch.

There will be pit stops every 6 miles, with hot and cold refreshments and first aid if required. There will also be a warm welcome at Balloch, as the Kiltwalkers are piped home into a tented area for a sit down and more hot and cold refreshments.

Over 250 supporters, family and friends have signed up already, and TACC are hoping to have 500 in total doing the walk.

Signing up is easy, and only takes a minute online at www.kiltwalk.co.uk

Win a trip to watch Scotland away

Of course the main aim is to raise as much money as possible and TACC are asking everyone to try to raise £500 in sponsorship.

As an added incentive, everyone who raises £500 or more will be entered into a prize draw – 1st prize being a trip for 2 to watch Scotland away in a Euro qualifying match in Sept/Oct 2010, courtesy of Passport Travel.

Walk 500 miles for your local charity

Every club or group of friends who walk 500 miles between them (ie 20 or more walkers) are invited to nominate a local children’s charity to receive 50% of the money raised by them.
