Scotland Under-21 defender Stephen Kingsley is aiming to round off the “best month of his career” with positive results against France and Northern Ireland.

The Swansea City player made his Premier League debut in the 2-1 victory over Arsenal at the Emirates before starting for the Welsh team in their 1-0 win over Aston Villa at the Liberty Stadium on Saturday.

It has been a whirlwind few weeks for the former Falkirk player, and the 21-year old has loved every minute of it.

Speaking to Swansea City’s official website, Kingsley said: “To play in front of almost 60,000 people (at the Emirates Stadium) on my Premier League debut was a brilliant feeling. To win the game, when most people didn’t give us much chance, was the most important thing though.

"It was great to then make my home debut against Aston Villa," he said.

“Playing at home brought the challenge of getting the three points - in front of the home fans - and knowing how vital it would be.

"It was a scrappy game, but the most important thing was the three points and we were delighted to get them.

For Kingsley, the focus now switches on to international football, with a difficult trip away to France on Thursday before Tuesday’s match against Northern Ireland at the 2021 Stadium in Paisley.

“It will be nice to end the month on a high,” said Kingsley. “And it’s probably been the best month of my career so far.

“I’ll now meet up with the rest of the Scotland squad, so to go away and play games for my country will top it off.”
