BFC Linlithgow- the biggest provider of Children’s football in Linlithgow is to change its name to Linlithgow Rose Community Football Club in a move which will bring the town’s main football clubs together. BFC Chairman Douglas Gray said “ we are delighted to be involved in this project to unite the two main football organisations within the local community , so rather than work in parallel, we have a tremendous opportunity to align the two for the benefit of wider community in general.
The plan was driven by Billy McAdam vice chairman of the club who said “ With this partnership Linlithgow Rose JFC will complete our pathway t adult football for the purpose of the SFA Quality Mark, this will then enable LRCFC to work towards Community Status level by the end of 2011.
Both clubs will work together on various projects with an immediate goal of addressing the chronic shortage of quality football facilities within Linlithgow.
Billy added “ as an SFA Quality Mark Club all our coaches are working tirelessly to increase their coach education in order to better develop our players. Ideally we would love some of these players to represent the Rose in years to come although naturally not all will make the grade at one of the best junior football clubs in Scotland. Our club already has a specialised Goalkeeping Section, a thriving girls section while we have recently just launched a refereeing and coaching initiative aimed at getting youngsters involved in all aspects of the game rather than just playing. Whatever they chose to do its important they remain within the sport and Linlithgow Rose Community Football Club provide them with the vehicle to do so”
