Primary school pupils in East Dunbartonshire are benefitting from “Girls Only” football through FIFA's "Live Your Goals" initiative.
The festival on October 8th was organised through a partnership between East Dunbartonshire Leisure and Culture, the Scottish Football Association and FIFA.
Held at St Helens Primary School, in Bishopbriggs, 140 girls in Primary 5-7 from 12 primary schools throughout East Dunbartonshire came together for the fun-filled festival. Each of the girls attending participated in a wide range of football drills and games which were staged for each particular age group.
The event allowed local girls to link in with the Football Development Department, and inform them of local grassroots girls' clubs where they could look to move from the participation side of the game to a club/team environment.
