Midlothian’s Bank of Scotland Midnight Leagues, run by Hibernian cult hero Keith Wright, are kicking off around the region.
1.Newbattle High School (Astro) 12 to 18-years-old, Friday, January 25 to March 22 from 7.30pm to 9pm.
2.Danderhall Astros 12 to 18-years-old Friday, January 25 to Friday, March 29 from 7.30pm to 9pm.
3.Penicuik Park 12 to 18-years-old Friday, January 25 to Friday, March 29 from 7.30pm to 9pm.
4.Poltonhall, Bonnyrigg, 12 to 18-years-old, Friday, January 25 to Friday March 29 from 7.30pm to 9pm.
The league is run nationwide by Scottish FA coaches within all 32 local authorities to over 6000 young people at 100 different venues.
The league has expanded its programme to include end of season finals at various SPL grounds and a player of the year event.
Research by Stirling University found the league had a positive impact on the local communities it was hosted in.
Instances of anti-social behaviour have dropped by as much as 30% in some local authority areas.
