Hamilton’s Mill United FC has been working towards the Scottish FA Quality Mark over recent months. The club has hundreds of young players and also an adult amateur side. The committee and coaches have made the commitment to improve standards across the five different sections of Quality Mark - management, administration, player and coach development, planning and welfare. Key to the Quality Mark process has been the hard work of coaches Ross Ruddier and Derek O’Neil who have been gathering all the relevant paperwork and supporting long term chairman John Dunne.
To meet the standards required, The Scottish FA South West Region staff has organised extra coach education courses for the Mill United players and coaches from the 2003 age group all the way up to the amateurs.
Most of the lads will go away having picked up a few new ideas and will have a better understanding of the coaching process and how to best develop their players. Couple the new material with the years of experience amongst the group, and the players in Hamilton can look forward to top class training for years to come.
