Motherwell Girls have branched out to Kenya with a donation of Strips to St Catherines Girls High School, Machakos.

The link came about through school friends David Gardner and Grant Thomson.  David's father Stuart is currently working in Kenya and knew of the school as it was set up by the former director of the company he works for.  Grant's father, George Thomson has been involved with Motherwell Girls for many years and when he heard David was going to visit his father, he asked Grant if David could take some strips to the School on their behalf.

The School itself is a relatively new venture, only founded in 2005, with the purpose of providing education for girls who were unable to afford the schools in Nairobi, Kenya's capital.

The school aims to give girls the knowledge and confidence to face the challenges of life, with the school motto 'A Light for Society'.

The school has a football team, who play in the Machakos District Secondary School League and are currently second in the league but now with the best kit in the country they have vowed to do it proud and win the league.
