Over 40 girls gathered at Almondvale Stadium, Livingston on Sunday for the inaugral West Lothian girls U11 festival.  This was the first time that many of the girls had competed against each other in a friendly 4v4 format and it is hoped that this is the first stage to develop a more formal structure in the West Lothian area.

The girls played a series of ten minute rotational games and at the end of the day received tickets to attend Livingston’s match in the afternoon.

South East Regional Manager Mark Munro was delighted with the festival and said: "Throughout the year these festivals have provided a platform for over 200 girls throughout the region to participate in a more formal activity and compete against girls of a similar age and ability.

"We hope that over the next year this continues to grow and that we can put a more formal structure in place for the girls to progress into the South East Girls Regional Leagues."

The South East Region would like to thank all of the girls and volunteers who have participated in U11s activities throughout the year, and we hope to see you at our festivals in 2010.
