The Scottish FA West Region has delivered a second course at Renfrew KGV for 60 new volunteers recruited through the Coaches For Communities programme.
Coaches For Communities gives new coaches the opportunity to receive a free Scottish FA Early Touches coaching certificate, along with kit including a rain jacket and set of coaching markers.
New volunteer, David McLean, said: "It was great to come along to this course and learn some new skills that I can now use when coaching young footballers. I would like to thanks the Scottish FA for providing this opportunity."
Brian McLaughlin Scottish FA Player and Coach Development Officer said: "It's been a pleasure to be involved in these courses and its really enthused me to see so many new volunteers willing to give up their time to help out in youth football."
All coaches who attended these courses have made a commitment to provide a number of voluntary hours at local grassroots clubs and schools. The Scottish FA, via its network of Quality Mark clubs and schools, will support these new volunteers and provide them with opportunities to link to local clubs and schools.
The Scottish FA West Regional is fully committed to supporting all new volunteers within the region. If you are interested in getting involved please contact the Regional Office on 0141 886 7366 or email west@scottishfa.co.uk.
