Motherwell captain Stephen Craigan visited Noble Primary School in Bellshill this week to launch the new Tesco Bank Football Challenge website.
It was a family affair as wife Elaine, a teacher at the school, invited pupils along for the event.
Along with the launch, pupils took part in a coaching session led by former Dunfermline star Andy Smith, a football development officer for the Scottish FA in North Lanarkshire.
Stephen said: "I’m hugely impressed with the website.
"It's brilliant fun for the kids and includes lots of relevant content, all of which is extremely inspiring.
"Connecting digital media, so commonly used by children, to sport is a simple but incredibly good idea – the latest in what is a brilliant programme.”
The website, www.tescobankfootballchallenge.com, contains thousands of pictures from festivals up and down the country, accessible via a child-friendly search function, plus a TV channel with coverage of some of the best events.
Run in partnership with the Scottish FA, the Tesco Bank Football Challenge uses the power of football to get 6 to 8-year-old primary school children active, not only at school but to establish long lasting activity week in week out.
In the first year an amazing 19,061 children got involved in school coaching during PE lessons, at regional festivals and finally at our national event at Hampden in June.
