Billy Gilmour has a tale or two to tell.

From Ardrossan to the Allianz Arena and everything in between.

This summer the 22-year-old and his Scotland team-mates will carry the hopes of a nation when they kick off UEFA EURO 2024 against hosts Germany in one of world football’s most iconic stadiums.

The weight of expectation is nothing new for the midfielder, who was tipped for the top long before he made his headline-grabbing move from Rangers to Chelsea at just 16.

For every success there’s been a setback.

For every supporter there’s been a sceptic.

Through all the hype and hysteria, he’s maintained a steely focus. Combined with a potent combination of tenacity and honed technique, it’s taken him a long way.

But he’s still just Oor Billy.

That much is clear after spending the last few months in the company of not only Billy, but some of those nearest and dearest to him. Family, friends and mentors who have helped shape the person and the player.

The result is our latest documentary – ‘Oor Billy’ – which will be released on the Scotland National Team YouTube channel on Thursday, 29 February.
