Coaches on Orkney have recently completed the Scottish FA Level 1 children’s course.

Scottish FA football development officer Calum MacDonald delivered the course to 22 aspiring coaches over a weekend.

“Coach education is hugely important to the Association,” said Calum.

The courses are well respected throughout Scotland and it was great to travel up to Orkney to work with passionate football fans.

“I hope all those who attended will take their new skills back to their club.”

Michael Swanney, Active Schools Co-ordinator on the island, said: “It was fantastic to see such a variety of football clubs being represented throughout the weekend.

“This can only benefit youth football in Orkney”.
