Pirie Park Youth Football Club is a community club that delivers football training programmes, skill development and fitness improvement to children in Govan and the surrounding areas.

The club recently participated in the 3K Junior Great Scottish Run in Glasgow on Saturday 5th September to raise funds for the club, Radio Clyde  - Cash for Kids and Govan Youth Information Project.

Club Secretary for the club Sarah Smith said “This has been a fantastic and enjoyable day for the children, coaches, parents and supporters of the club. The purpose of this event was not just to raise funds for the club but to also give something back to the local community and a charity. We are a club that know how important it is to give and receive support to non profit organisations, as we ourselves have been fortunate enough to recently gain Braehead shopping centre's support by becoming our sponsor".

"Pirie Park YFC is currently working extremely hard to achieve the SFA Quality Mark Standard Award and the volunteers at Pirie Park have moved the club forward in many ways in a short space of time. By working towards Quality Mark status they are placing some very important building blocks for the long-term sustainability of their club. I have found it to be commendable that they realise the importance of supporting local charities while fund-raising for their own club." Gary Doctor, Football Development Officer for Culture and Sport Glasgow.
