Jeff Flitcroft, Manchester United's Advanced Development Coach, and Scottish FA Player and Coach Development Officer, Jimmy Bone, led the way at the recent East Region Coaching Conference at Links Park, Montrose.
The conference is very much part of the region's annual coach development programme and is aimed at coaches working throughout all levels of football.
Coaches were able to take in two sessions on the pitch, with Jeff delivering a session to Under 9s and Jimmy Bone demonstrating a striker’s movement session to Under 15s. As well as the two practical sessions coaches were given the opportunity to attend two workshops from Grant Small, Positive Coaching Scotland Manager (Football) on Positive Coaching and Match Analysis.
Ian Lowe, Scottish FA East Regional Manager, said “The day was a great success with over 80 coaches attending. Everyone present gained an insight into various coaching sessions and philosophies which I am sure they will take back to their own clubs.”
Feedback from teh day was very positive, including this comment from the coaches at Douglas Lads Boys Club:
“Thank you for providing the excellent training sessions at the East Region Coaching Conference on Sunday. It is a privilege to have access to such experienced coaches and as always we have taken a lot away from the sessions that we look forward to implementing.”
Many thanks to Jeff Flitcroft, Jimmy Bone, Grant Small and Montrose FC who helped make the day a great experience
