The Dundee and Angus Scottish FA 2020 Development Centre enjoyed a visit from Dundee United and Scotland midfielder Stuart Armstrong and Dundee FC and Scotland Under-17 starlet Craig Wighton.
The young players enjoyed a question and answer session with the players and even had a chance to test their skills against them.
2020 Centres are the first step on the Scottish FA performance pyramid and targets talented boys and girls in the Primary 5-7 age bracket. Players are selected from professional clubs and the non-professional game to take part in "best-v-best" sessions with a framework designed to support the players to reach their full potential.
Dundee's Football Development Officer Niall Nicolson said: "Tonight has been fantastic for the young players. They show an incredible commitment to their own development with most of them training five nights a week.
"Having visits like this one really gives them something to aspire to and both Stuart and Craig are a real credit to their clubs. I thank both players for taking time out to pay our young athletes a much welcomed visit tonight.
Both players sent the same message to the budding young stars, telling them that if they are prepared to work hard and show good attitudes and take sacrifices towards their development they could go far in the game.
The next step on the performance pyramid for our 2003s will be the opportunity to trial for selection to St. John's Academy, home to the Scottish FA Elite Performance
School.
