A Quality Mark community club in the South West region took part in a Show Bigotry the Red Card Festival in Largs at weekend.

Kilbirnie Ladeside Cougars (KLC) attended the event at the Sport Scotland National Centre, postponing a match such was the importance of the day.

Elaine Crangle, of KLC, said: “It was a great event that brought together 8 teams from across the North Ayrshire area throughout various age groups and saw the Cougars paired against KSC Juniors, Kilwinning.

“The National Centre is an excellent facility and shows the young teams coming through the Scottish football setup the type of facility that is being provided in the South West of Scotland region.
“The Festival provided the teams the opportunity to be trained by professional coaches and we sincerely thank them for giving up their time today.”
The Cougars, who said they had a great day, were awarded with a Participation Award, together with the other teams, collected by Head Coach, Terry Daly and Team Captain, Ryan Steele.

Elaine added: “Special me to the Cougars who attended today's festival - Cameron King, James Humphrey, Ryan Steele, Robyn Winkler, Lewis Martin, Mitchell Allan, Kyle Allan, Cameron Miller, Sean Daly and Matthew Jones - who all did well, with Kyle Allan scoring on the day.
“Special thanks also goes to the Cougars' parents, who stayed and watched the games, for their continuing support.”

Next game for the Cougars is away to Auchinleck Talbot BC on Sunday 29th April 2012, in the West of Scotland League.
