The Scottish FA West Region recently held a joint meeting with representatives from all the local youth and school leagues to look at different development areas within the Region.
The meeting was attended by representatives from the Glasgow and District Youth League, Johnstone and District Youth League, ERSDA and the Paisley and District Schools League.
Club Development Manager Danny Bisland provided the group with an update on the proposed coach education/in-service dates for the West Region in 2010 and asked if the leagues could provide free weekends for activity to happen.
Danny said: "It's great to work in partnership with all the leagues, as it gives us an opportunity to create a very robust in-service programme for all the clubs involved in the local leagues."
Regional Chairman Peter Glancey said: "The region has been evolving over the last number of years and it's great to have this platform to look at good practice and discuss different development areas that will help our clubs, schools and coaches."
Peter added: "The majority of people involved in grassroots sport are volunteers and it is fantastic that the West Region can provide different areas of support that can help the volunteers, and ultimately the young players they are coaching’."
The group agreed to look at a number of different areas and try to work closely together to help support better communication and funding opportunities.
