Three players who represent Central schools have received a great early Christmas present when they were informed of their selection in the Scottish Schools' FA International Squad.
Midfielder Daniel Fitzpatrick (St Margaret's High School, Airdrie) has an idea of what to expect from the international programme as he was also involved last season and he is thrilled, following the extensive trials, to be involved again.
Joining Daniel is central defender Richard Kirwan from St Ambrose High School, and forward Andrew Hunter of McLaren High School, Callander.
Stewart Taylor, one of the Schools' FA national coaches who will work with the team, is also chairman of the Central Region Recreation Committee. He said:
"The boys have done well to earn their selection. I am sure that they can look forward to a memorable involvement. The programme gives the boys a chance to develop their game even further and I know that they will give everything to the squad over the next, exciting four months."
