Scotland v Wales

Tuesday, 21 February 2023 – 2.05pm kick-off (UK Time)

Pinatar Arena, Spain

Live on BBC Alba and BBC iPlayer

Scotland’s participation in this year’s Pinatar Cup will draw to a close tomorrow as they take on Wales in the final fixture of the week-long tournament.

Both sides go into the game looking to end the campaign on a high. Wales are one point ahead of Scotland in the standings - the only team that are out of contention for the trophy is Philippines who are yet to pick up any points.

Pedro Martinez Losa’s side bounced back from their opening defeat at the hands of Iceland with a 2-1 victory over Philippines. Goals from Lauren Davidson and Rachel Corsie secured the win ahead of the final showdown against Wales.

Tomorrow’s opponents earned a draw against Iceland at the weekend, off the back of a 1-0 victory over Philippines.

The match, which is dedicated to the ‘Football v Homophobia’ campaign, will kick-off at 2.05pm (UK time) and will be played at the Pinatar Arena near Murcia.

Ahead of the match, our head coach said, “It’s the third match of the tournament and it’s against one of the home nations, winning this game is the objective as it is in every game we play.

“This week, we’ve won one game and lost another and we felt that we should have done better in certain areas. We’ve analysed both performances and we’re ready now to face the final challenge.

“We’re really looking forward to competing against Wales who will bring a lot of intensity and we know they can be quick on the counter-attack. They have some experienced players, but they are a side we’re familiar with.

“We lost against them last year and we want to put that right.”

How to Watch

The match will be shown live on BBC Alba, BBC iPlayer and the BBC Sport website, with coverage beginning at 2pm for a 2.05pm kick-off.
