Generous Scotland fans helped to raise an incredible £7,100 for Children 1st and the Tartan Army during UEFA EURO 2020, by donating as part of our Scotland HQ appeal.
This represents more than double the original target of the charities.
Scotland HQ LIVE and Scotland HQ LIVE: The Countdown, hosted by Gordon Smart and Lewis Irons respectively was broadcast live from the Drygate Brewery in Glasgow throughout UEFA EURO 2020. With a number of fantastic prizes available – including Che Adams’ signed boots, match tickets and – of course – John McGinn’s personalised measuring tape, fans were able to donate to be in with a chance of winning.
Derek Clark, Chairman of the Tartan Army Children’s Charity (TACC) said: “A huge thanks to everyone who donated to TACC and Children 1st via Scotland HQ Live. TACC will use this money to help disadvantaged children in Scotland, and in the countries where Scotland plays.”
Gary Kernahan, Children 1st Director of Fundraising: “Amid the joys and drama of supporting Scotland this past month, thank you so much for taking the time to support Children 1st and TACC. Children 1st works with children and families all across Scotland, providing support that helps to keep children safe. Your generosity will support families in need and enable them to enjoy fun shared experiences – for example through our free activity programmes this summer. Scotland fans, we salute you!”
The Scottish FA are delighted to support Children 1st and TACC in the valuable work they undertake with disadvantaged children. We would also like to thank everyone who entered the prize draw, or has provided a prize.
