Tuesday, 18 November 2025 (5:30pm kick-off, UK time)
Fir Park, Motherwell

Scotland back at Fir Park for Matchday 6 of the UEFA EURO 2027 Qualifiers as they take on Bulgaria on home soil. Tickets for Fir Park are still available here, while Scotland Supporters Club (SSC) members go free.

Scotland return victorious from the Rock having defeated Gibraltar for the second time in this campaign, as goals from James Wilson and Taylor Steven secured all three points in stormy conditions.

Scotland currently sit 3rd on 7 points in in Group B behind Portugal and Czechia having posted two wins, one draw and two losses, with a chance to move clear of Bulgaria and put pressure on Czechia.

Team News

Scot Gemmill can once again call on Dire Mebude and Jeremiah Mullen as they return from suspension, but is without Celtic’s Colby Donovan after his injury in Gibraltar.

Dylan Lobban came on for a debut in the second-half on The Rock, continuing his impressive rise this season which has seen him retain his place in the Aberdeen side.

Taylor Steven was another debutant at Europa Point stadium as a second half substitute for Emilio Lawrence and netted on his debut to secure all three points for the Young Scots on the road.

Pre-match thoughts

Scotland Under-21 Manager Scot Gemmill had this to say ahead of the fixture;

“It has been a busy period for the squad since our last visit earlier in the campaign with October’s fixtures allowing this group to show their attacking talents against both Gibraltar and Azerbaijan. A record-breaking night at Dens Park was followed by a dramatic 90 minutes in Baku, where the team showed great spirit in adversity to come back late on and take a point.

Our trip to Gibraltar provided a very different challenge to the one we faced in Dundee, with the hosts playing for pride and in very challenging conditions, but we were happy to return home with three points ahead of tonight’s match with some strong performances across the team.

Under-21 football has a balance between ensuring we are giving players the opportunity to develop their skills and abilities in new and challenging environments, while remaining competitive in games and in competitions.

The experience the players gain in these games can prove invaluable throughout their career, and we continue to develop it as a place for the players to thrive.”
