Scotland v Republic of Ireland
UEFA Nations League: League B, Group 1
Saturday, 24 September (7.45pm)
Hampden Park
Scotland will attempt to build on Wednesday's outstanding win over Ukraine as our Nations League triple-header continues with a pivotal match against Republic of Ireland on Saturday.
A well-taken opener from John McGinn and a Lyndon Dykes double sent Scotland to the summit of League B1 on a raucous night in front of a buoyant Tartan Army at Hampden Park.
Steve Clarke's men are looking to continue this momentum under the lights at a sold-out national stadium on Saturday night.
Team News
The one negative aspect of the dominant display against Ukraine was the unfortunate injury suffered by Nathan Patterson and the exciting young right-back has left the squad alongwith David Turnbull who failed to recover from an ankle knock he picked up at the weekend.
Josh Doig has since joined up with the squad for his first taste of senior international football, fresh from captaining Scot Gemmill's Under-21 side to an impressive 3-1 win in Belfast on Thursday.
St Mirren centre-back Declan Gallagher, who has nine caps, has also been recalled to the Scotland squad.

Pre-match thoughts
Scotland manager Steve Clarke: "We just need to treat the Republic of Ireland game the same as how we treated Ukraine to try and get the three points and make sure that when we go to Ukraine we are still in a good moment, still feeling good about ourselves and looking for the one point to qualify.
"We’ve still got everything in front of us. You could get carried away looking at what we could achieve – let’s just concentrate on the next game and try to make the next step forward.
"I think you always have to go with the winning mentality. We want to build a culture where everytime we go to the pitch we want to win the game.
"I think we have shown that consistently with an eight game unbeaten run. We want to build that type of run again.
