Scotland v Philippines
Saturday, 18 February 2023 – 2.05pm kick-off (UK Time)
Pinatar Arena, Spain
Live on BBC Alba and BBC iPlayer
Scotland are back in Pinatar Cup action this weekend, facing Philippines on Saturday afternoon in the second match of the three-game tournament.
The 2.05pm kick-off will be played at the Pinatar Arena near Murcia. Pedro Martínez Losa’s side are aiming to bounce back from the 2-0 defeat against Iceland in the opening fixture.
Philippines also go into the game following a defeat, losing 1-0 to Wales on Wednesday evening.
Led by Alen Stajcic, Philippines enjoyed a successful 2022 with a relatively new team, winning 18 of their 32 games on the way to qualification for the 2023 FIFA Women’s World Cup this Summer.
Ahead of the match, our head coach said, “The Philippines game has come around quickly which gives us an opportunity to refocus and put things right.
“It was a disappointing result against Iceland but there were lots of positives in terms of the overall performance. The players know what they are capable of but it’s a case of performing at a high level consistently.
“We have to be clinical and precise against Philippines who are a very disciplined side. They’re heading for the World Cup, so they’ll want to get as much confidence as possible before the tournament.
“We want to win every match that we play and we’ll be doing everything we can to ensure that our hard work is rewarded at full-time tomorrow”.
How to Watch
The match will be shown live on BBC Alba, BBC iPlayer and the BBC Sport website, with coverage beginning at 2pm for a 2.05pm kick-off.
