Scotland v Venezuela
Monday, 14 November 2022 (6pm Kick-off UK Time)
Estadio Antonio Bardillo
Scotland will take on Venezuela on Monday evening. The match follows a convincing 2-0 victory over Panama for the under-23s at the weekend. Goals from Abi Harrison and Jenna Clark sealed the win for the young team.
Pedro Martínez Losa is preparing the senior squad to face the South American side at Estadio Antonio Bardillo in Cádiz, Spain. It comes on the final day of an intense winter training camp in Jerez.
Venezuela are led by Manchester City striker Deyna Castellanos and will provide a good test for a Scotland side looking to end 2022 with a win.
Speaking of the challenge ahead, Pedro Martínez Losa said: “Venezuela have a couple of experienced players who play in Europe. It’s a good opportunity for us to compete against a different kind of team."
And when reflecting on this week as a whole for the squad, he continued, "We’ve managed the workload of the squad very well this week.
It’s been a fantastic camp from day one. It’s been lot of hard work in training and the girls have been incredible. The level of training has been unbelievable and the players are responding fantastically."
“We are gaining a lot of positivity from this group and are continuing to build towards the future. Our under-23s competed well against Panama and dominated the game. We look forward to carrying that forward into the match against Venezuela.”
