UEFA Women’s EURO Qualifier
Scotland v Slovenia

Paisley 2021 Stadium

Scotland will return to the Paisley 2021 Stadium for the first UEFA Women’s EURO qualifier of the year, after celebrating International Women’s Day with a friendly against Spain at the Falkirk Stadium.

The home of St Mirren will host the qualifier against Slovenia on Friday 8th April, a side that Scotland defeated 3-0 in Ajdovscina in the opening fixture of the campaign.

The stadium holds good memories for Anna Signeul’s side, who recorded a decisive 10-0 win over Macedonia at the end of last year to retain their position at the summit of Group 1.

Ahead of this year’s crucial qualifiers, Scotland will step up their preparations with an exciting international challenge match against Spain on Tuesday 8th March.

The match in Falkirk will be the first time the two sides have met since the play-offs for UEFA EURO 2013, which saw Spain edge through 4-3 on aggregate.

Scotland are vying to reach their first ever major tournament final, and currently sit top of Group 1 with a 100% record at the half-way point of the UEFA EURO 2017 campaign.

The eight group winners and six best runners-up qualify automatically for the finals in The Netherlands next summer, with the final two second placed teams going in to a play-off.

Scotland’s remaining qualifiers include two matches against the group’s top seeds, Iceland, with a home fixture on Friday 3rd June. Venue details will be confirmed shortly.
