Men’s A
Gordon Strachan’s side played at Hampden for the first time in nearly 18 months in March, and marked their return with two wins in five days. A 1-0 victory over Northern Ireland preceded their European Qualifier against Gibraltar, where a Steven Fletcher hat-trick helped Scotland to a 6-1 victory.
Women’s A
After a 4-0 victory in Belfast against Northern Ireland in February, Scotland took part in the 2015 Cyprus Cup, where three of their four matches were against sides busy preparing for the summer’s FIFA Women’s World Cup in Canada. After narrow defeats to Canada and Italy their opening two games, Anna Signeul’s team ended the tournament strongly with victories over South Korea and the Netherlands, whilst Kim Little won the Golden Boot with five goals in four games.
Youth
Scotland Under-17s reached their second consecutive European Championships in March, finishing second in a qualifying group that featured Czech Republic, Hungary and Bosnia-Herzegovina. After a victory over Bosnia-Herzegovina and draw against Hungary, Scot Gemmill’s side qualified despite a 1-0 defeat in their final match.
Elsewhere, a late double from Lawrence Shankland secured a 2-1 for Scotland Under-21s away to Hungary. It was Danny Lennon’s first and only game as interim manager - the former St Mirren man went onto manage Alloa Athletic following his departure.
