Scotland's route to the 2026 World Cup in USA, Canada and Mexico is set, with a new campaign beginning in September.

With a different format to the recent World Cup qualifying campaigns, here’s everything you need to know about how qualification works, our opponents, and the road to next year's tournament.

Steve Clarke's side have been drawn into Group C alongside Denmark, Greece and Belarus, which each team playing each other home and away between September and November this year. Tickets for home fixtures in that run are on sale now

This means a shorter qualifying window than previous campaigns, with only six matches standing between the Men's National Team and a first World Cup since 1998.

To qualify, Scotland’s most straightforward route is to finish top of Group C, which would secure automatic qualification. A second-place finish would see the team progress to the UEFA Play-offs in March 2026, where 16 nations - the group runners-up and selected UEFA Nations League qualifiers - compete in one-legged semi-finals and finals for the four remaining European spots at the tournament.

With all six matches packed into just three international windows, momentum will be key, and you can cheer on the team at Hampden Park, with tickets on sale now: tickets.scottishfa.co.uk
