Scotland v Denmark
FIFA World Cup Qualifying
Tuesday, 18 November 2025 (7.45pm kick-off)
Hampden Park, Glasgow

It all comes down to this.

After five matches, Scotland now stand just 90 minutes away from qualification for a first World Cup in 27 years.

Group C leaders Denmark are the visitors at Hampden Park, themselves knowing that a point would secure direct qualification for them.

Steve Clarke's Scotland have gathered 10 points in the five matches so far, with three victories, a draw against Denmark and a narrow loss in a thrilling five-goal thriller against Greece in Piraeus on Saturday night.

That defeat looked like it was going to consign the Scots to the play-offs in March, but Denmark's draw with Belarus in Copenhagen meant that top spot is still all to play for, with the Danes on 11 points and Scotland a point behind.

Clarke's Scotland have already qualified for two major tournaments - EURO 2020 and EURO 2024 - but know that qualification for the World Cup would eclipse both those achievements.

Team News

It was confirmed on Monday afternoon that midfielder Billy Gilmour, who missed the Greece match but hoped to be fit for Tuesday's game, has failed to recover sufficiently from the injury and will be forced to sit out again.

Lennon Miller and Ross McCrorie were also forced to withdraw from the squad before the start of the camp and the pair were replaced by Andy Irving and Connor Barron.

Previous Meetings

The two sides last met at Hampden Park four years ago, and it was a memorable occasion as Scotland recording a famous 2-0 win to guarantee a home play-off in qualifying for the last World Cup.

John Souttar's header gave us in the lead and Che Adams wrapped up the win, latching onto a Stuart Armstrong pass and scoring superbly past Kasper Schmeichel.

The two sides could not be separated in September in Copenhagen, with Lyndon Dykes and Ryan Christie coming closest for the Scots in a 0-0 draw.

How to Watch

All of Scotland's qualifiers during the campaign will be live, free-to-air, on BBC One Scotland and the BBC IPlayer.
