Scotland supporters rush to back the national team ahead of massive year

More than 20,000 match packages sold in first day of exclusive sales period for Scotland Supporters Club members

A huge year for the Scotland Men’s National Team kicked off spectacularly yesterday, as more than 20,000 five-match packages flew off the shelves within the first 24 hours of sales opening.

Five match packages for Scotland’s home matches this year went on sale exclusively to Scotland Supporters Club members at 10am yesterday, eclipsing 2023’s 48-hour sales total in less than a day in the process.

With UEFA EURO 2024 tantalisingly close, Scotland have two home warm-up matches before they jet off to Germany, beginning with Northern Ireland on Tuesday, 26 March.

Scotland will then host Finland at Hampden on Friday, 7 June in what will surely be a raucous going-away party before the team leave for Germany, where they will play the tournament’s opening match against the host nation in Munich on 14 June.

While all eyes will be on this summer’s main event, Scotland supporters can also look forward to three home matches against some of Europe’s top nations in the autumn, as Steve Clarke and his players embark on their inaugural campaign in the top tier of the UEFA Nations League.

After the side topped their group in 2022 and securing promotion to League A of the competition, Scotland supporters can now look forward to welcoming Portugal, Croatia and Hungary to Hampden Park.

SSC members have priority access to tickets, with five-match packages available now before single match sales open to SSC members on Monday, 4 March, with public sales opening on Thursday, 7 March.

Scotland Head Coach Steve Clarke: “Scotland supporters played a pivotal part in the team’s immensely successful campaign last year and I’m delighted to see that we will enjoy their backing at the national stadium again in 2024.

“In my tenure as head coach of the national team I’ve been fortunate to enjoy some incredible nights at Hampden and the atmosphere that the fans generate has been instrumental in creating those memories.

“The journey that my players, coaching staff and I have been on in recent years has been a positive one and I hope that the supporters have enjoyed it as much as we have.

“Everyone involved with the national team is incredibly grateful for the support we receive from the fans. I implore them to continue to back the side as they have done over the years and help us make some more memories in front of capacity crowds this year.”
