2015 Victory Shield
Wales 1-2 Scotland
Sunday 1st November 2015, 4pm kick-off
Dragon Park, Newport
(Cooper 40’; Church 33’, Houston 80+1’)
Scotland Under-16s started the 2015 Victory Shield with a dramatic win over Wales in Newport.
Scotland took the lead after 33 minutes with a curled effort from Daniel Church on the left-wing, but a Brandon Cooper header on the stroke of half-time equalised for the tournament’s hosts.
It looked as if the match was heading for a draw until, in stoppage time, Jordan Houston netted the rebound from Elliot Watt’s free-kick to grab all three points at the death.
Next up for Scotland in the tournament is Northern Ireland on Tuesday, before their final match of the revamped competition against the Republic of Ireland on Thursday.
Scotland: McCracken (GK), Freeman, Church, Welsh, Mayo, Watt, Aitchison (C), Rudden, Middleton, Kelly, Antoniazzi
Subs: Mullen (GK), Gray, Hutchison, McLevy, Smith, Maxwell, Houston, Ross, Paterson
