Under-21 friendly double header
Scotland v Northern Ireland
Wednesday 2 June, KO 3pm and Saturday 5 June, KO 2pm
C&G Systems Stadium, Dumbarton
Scotland Under-21s are set to return to the pitch this week for the first time in over six months.
Scot Gemmill, who last week named a 24 player squad for the friendly double header against Northern Ireland, has selected an almost entirely new-look squad from the last time the youngsters were together back in November 2020.
The two matches will be played at C&G Systems in Dumbarton, offering Scot Gemmill an opportunity to get a look at this new group in the behind closed doors fixtures.
Only Brian Kinnear, Lewis Mayo and Glenn Middleton remain from the previous squad named in October 2020, with Josh Doig and Lewis Fiorini dropping out in the previous few days.
Scot Gemmill said: "This is a great opportunity for myself and the staff to work with this group of players at a crucial stage in their development and journey toward the Men's A squad.
"Two friendly matches against Northern Ireland present us with a difficult opponent in a low-pressure environment which will allow me to give the players minutes and crucially get back on to the pitch after a long wait.
