The Scotland Women’s National Team will prepare for their upcoming World Cup qualifiers by playing Hungary in an International Challenge Match on Thursday, 14 September.

It will take place at Telki, the Hungarian Football federation’s training camp, in Budapest, kick-off 4pm UK time (5pm local time).

The fixture is the first since the team’s debut at a major finals at UEFA Women’s Euro 2017, where they narrowly missed out on qualification for the knock-out stages on goal difference.

The match will mark new head coach Shelley Kerr’s first in charge of Scotland and serve as preparation for the team's qualifying campaign for the 2019 FIFA World Cup, where Scotland have been drawn in Group 2 alongside Switzerland, Poland, Belarus and Albania.

Scotland begin their qualification campaign the following month with a trip to Belarus on 19 October, followed by a home tie against Albania on 24 October.

Scotland are currently ranked 21st in the FIFA world rankings, while Hungary are ranked 39th.
