Scotland Women’s Under-19s have qualified for the European Championships in August for the second time in four years.
Two wins over Republic of Ireland and Finland coupled with other results going their way has meant Gareth Evans side will travel to Northern Ireland to compete in the finals between the 8th and 20th August.
Scotland kicked-off their Elite Round campaign in Limerick on Tuesday with a nail biting 2-1 victory. Captain Erin Cuthbert opened the scoring before Republic of Ireland levelled. With a stalemate looking likely, the Chelsea midfielder showed nerves of steel in the 97th minute to slot home a penalty.
In the second group game, against Finland, Carla Boyce opened the scoring for Scotland with the opposition levelling.
Scoring her second penalty in three days, Cuthbert notched from the spot to seal the win.
An Ireland win over Ukraine would have secured Scotland’s place in the finals for the first time since 2014 and they duly delivered with a 2-0 win over the side Gareth Evans team will face on Sunday.
