Aberdeen Ladies youth and women’s teams came out in force last week for a special training session attended by Scotland star Rachel Small.

Despite the torrential rain Rachel took time out of her busy schedule to promote the upcoming UEFA Women's Euro Play-off match against Spain.

The match takes place at Hampden Park on the 20th of October at 2pm.

Rachel said: “The play-off match is without a doubt the most important game of my life.  It’s crucial that we get a good start in the home leg and I hope the fans turn out in numbers to help us do that.  So far the support has been good but it will have to be even better to create the famous Hampden Roar.”

Scottish FA club development officer, Finella Annand, is keen to get as many fans down to the match as possible from the North.

She said: “The play- off match is vitally important for the Women’s National Team, but also for the girls and women’s game as a whole.

"If the squad can qualify for the UEFA Women’s finals in Sweden then everyone involved from the grassroots game right through to those playing at an elite level will see an impact. We need to get as many fans as possible to Hampden to support Anna and the team in this historic match.”

Finella will be running buses running in the North from Inverness and Aberdeen.  Prices are £15 per person, and everyone is encouraged to jump on board.  For more information please contact Finella Annand on 07506461762 or finella.annand@scottishfa.co.uk
